Why ChildApart exists
Separation is hard enough without losing the paperwork. ChildApart was built to take the logistics off the table, so parents can spend their energy on their children instead of on admin.
One shared source of truth
Most friction between separated parents starts small: a handover time remembered differently, a receipt nobody kept, a message that landed harder than it was meant to. ChildApart holds all of that in one place, so there is less to disagree about.
Calm by design
The Communication Coach is there because words matter when feelings are raw. It is optional and never sends or rewrites anything for you — it simply offers a gentler way to make the same point, and you decide.
Records, quietly building
You may never need to hand your records to anyone. If you do, a clearly formatted factual export should already exist rather than be reconstructed from screenshots. Messages and decisions are time-stamped as they happen, so an export can show a record hasn't been altered since — which is different from proving what happened, and is no guarantee of how a court or mediator will treat it.
