Questions parents ask us most
If your question isn't covered here, support is available from inside the app.
How do I get started?
Create your account in the app, add your children, choose a schedule template or build your own, and upload your parenting plan. It usually takes about ten minutes, once.
Does my co-parent have to join?
You can use ChildApart on your own — the calendar, expenses, journal and records all work for one parent. Inviting your co-parent adds the shared view and messaging when you're ready.
Can my co-parent see my journal?
No. Your journal, private notes and personal documents are visible to you alone. Sharing anything is always a deliberate choice.
How do exports for a lawyer work?
You can export message records, the decision log and expenses as Excel or PDF, or give your lawyer view-only portal access instead. Either way, you choose what is shared and can revoke access.
Who can I add as a companion account?
A grandparent, childminder, new partner or anyone who needs to know handover times and places. Companion accounts are view-only and revocable at any time.
Which languages are supported?
English, French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, German, Italian, Urdu, Punjabi (Gurmukhi), Polish, Romanian, Portuguese, Arabic, Bengali and Gujarati.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. You can export your records at any time, and you can ask for your account and data to be deleted from within the app.
I still need a hand
Support is available from inside the app — open ChildApart and use the help option in your account menu, and a person will get back to you.
